Using Case It v705 with Ventura (Mac OS13)

  1. Use the 14-day free trial version of Crossover to run Case It v705 on Ventura. If you follow these instructions, Case It runs nearly as fast on Ventura as it does on Windows. After 14 days, a license will be required which you can obtain from Codeweavers.

  2. Anti-virus software may generate false alerts when using Crossover, so it may be necessary to turn of anti-virus software before installing it.

  3. Windows may appear under the main window, rather than staying on top. To fix this, simply drag the title bar of the main window. This will cause other windows to follow the main window, and any that were under the main window will now appear on top of it (e.g. gel window, ELISA window).

  4. The alert box may be hidden. The alert box appears in the middle of your computer screen after a user error, accompanied by a ‘beep’ noise. If a window (other than the main window) happens to be in this location, you will hear the beep, but the alert box may be hidden under that window. If so, you will need to move the window to expose the alert box, so that you can click the ‘ok’ on that box (click link for an example). If you do not click ‘ok’, the program will not continue.

  5. Case It will not open MEGA bioinformatics software if you are using Ventura. As a workaround, use Case It to open the MAFFT or MABL web sites for bioinformatics analyses.
